Sometimes purple just needs to be *really* purple. For Deep Purple, I’ve used three layers of dye to build up a rich, dark purple shade. The result is a semi-solid: at first glance, one deep colour, but up close, with subtle shifts in hue.
This nuance keeps the colour vibrant without it becoming a variegated yarn. Deep Purple is hand-dyed and available as Sock or DK, both per 100-gram skein.
Choose your yarn type
- Sock — 100 g · 400 m · 75% superwash merino / 25% nylon.
- DK (Double Knit) — 100 g · 225 m · 100% superwash merino (19.5 micron).
Small differences between skeins are part of hand-dyed yarn. For larger projects, you might want to alternate skeins every few rows for an even distribution.
Hand wash your finished item cold and dry it flat. The wool doesn’t like a tumble dryer; that’s a pretty reasonable stance.
