Hand dyed organic indigo shibori sockblank. Sockweight superwash merino with nylon blend.

Deep indigo blue, hand dyed sock blank. For this sock blank I used the shibori folding technique. The dye comes from an organic indigo vat (fructose based). The skein is made out of 75% super wash Merino and 25% nylon.

Did you know that natural indigo is known for making the fiber anti bacterial, flame resistant and it repels odor, dirt and insects. Indigo dyed garnment used to be worn by the samurai because it helped wounds to recover faster.

This sockblank is so soft, it can be worn directly to the skin. It is also suitable for baby clothing. You can use this yarn for a lovely detail in a larger piece or for a smaller project. Like socks, a beany or a scarf.

The yarn is set by washing it with vinegar, but The natural Indigo used for dying this yarn will rub off a little in the beginning. This is normal and the blue can be easily removed by washing your hands.
