Koek en zopie ⛸️ – warm shades for chilly days
Imagine gliding across a frozen canal, cheeks red from the cold, fingers wrapped around a steaming mug of hot chocolate. Koek en zopie is named after a traditional Dutch winter custom: small stalls on the ice selling snacks and warm drinks to ice skaters during natural ice winters. Think cinnamon cake, hot cocoa, and the smell of spice lingering in the frosty air.
This hand-dyed yarn captures that feeling in warm tones of biscuit, cocoa, cinnamon, and a hint of creamy vanilla.
The yarn is made of 75% mulesing-free 19.5 micron superwash Merino and 25% nylon: velvety soft for your skin, strong enough for your socks. Whether you choose sock yarn (400 meters) or DK (220 meters), this yarn will keep you warm on and off the ice.
💡 Not enough in stock? No problem – I’ll gladly dye it for you. If you order multiple skeins, I’ll make sure they come from the same dye bath for a beautifully consistent result.
