🥗 Slamix – An ode to young lettuce and soft garden moments
Slamix is a rich, layered color from the Yarn Club theme The Vegetable Garden. You can see it immediately: this is no ordinary vegetable green. This skein combines deep raspberry hues, eggplant, fresh leafy greens, creamy yellow, and earthy accents into a color that feels like a freshly harvested basket of garden life – warm, sun-ripened, and a touch melancholic.
The name is inspired by the poem ‘Young Lettuce’ by Rutger Kopland. Because even though we can endure a lot – young, newly planted lettuce in September, vulnerable and tender, evokes something else. Something soft. Something that wants to be preserved.
As always, dyed on our fine base of 75% mulesing-free superfine merino and 25% nylon – strong and soft at the same time. Perfect for socks, hats, children’s sweaters, or a soft scarf with a poetic edge.
💡 Pro tip: Let Slamix play the leading role alongside a neutral base color such as Emaille or Undyed. The color variation in Slamix adds life to your stitches, even in the simplest patterns.
☞ Need more skeins than are in stock? Don’t worry – I’ll be happy to dye them for you.
☞ Need multiple skeins? Then I will of course make sure they come from the same dye lot.
📜 how Did it Go Again?
Young Lettuce
I can endure everything,
the withering of beans,
dying flowers, the corner
potatoes, I can with dry eyes
see being harvested, I am
really tough in that.
But young lettuce in September,
just planted, limp still,
in moist beds, no.
