Hand spun recycled sari silk and Merino art yarn. Core spun around an ecological produced woolen core yarn and plied into super coils.
This aran weight yarn is made out of the left over silk from the sari weaving industry in India. It was core spun around a DK weight woollen yarn and after that plied into supercoils. The yarn has a self striping effect from golden yellow to warm dark red. The red part of the yarn is made out of Merino and silk.
This yarn has a stiffer feeling than yarn without a core. It is very suitable for home decoration projects such as weavings. But it has also a soft en slightly crispy silk touch, which makes the yarn also suitable for wearing.
Of course, the yarn is produced in a smoke free environment.
As a graphic designer I learned to play with colours and textures. I love to tranlate that knowledge to my fibre art. I love to 'paint' with fibre. I hope to inspire people to bring some colour in their projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
I love your art yarns, but what can I do with it?
Art yarn can be used in lots of different ways. You can use it to create a stunning detail in a larger knitting/crochet/weaving/fiber art project. Or you can use it for smaller projects like a necklace or scarf. I recommend to search for art yarn projects on Ravelry and Pinterest for inspiration. But be careful, once you’ve tried hand spun yarn, you’ll be hooked! :-)
