This hand dyed roving is made from 50% superfine merino, 20% alpaca, 20% silk, and 20% cashmere. This luxurious fiber blend is dyed with fluorescent paint on a white base, creating a stunning and unique color effect. Each package comes beautifully packaged in a lovely box, making it the perfect gift for the fiber artist in your life (Yes, that’s including a gift to yourself).
These hand-painted rovings are perfect for spinning, felting, or any other fiber art project you can imagine. The blend of superfine merino, alpaca, silk, and cashmere creates a soft and luxurious texture that is a joy to work with. Plus, the added touch of fluorescent color adds a fun and unexpected twist to your creations.
In these colorways I really love how the bright colors are toned down by the white background of the wool. When you spin the top, it will create a soft, speckled effect.
You can pick your favorite top and choose from ‘Disco purple’ a bright purple and pink. ‘Marshmellow’ in the yummy candy colors pink and acid yellow. And last but not least; ‘Ice princess’ in ice blue, pink and deep purple. To the last color I added a seperate little bag of glitter. because, what’s a prinsess supposed to do without a sparkle?
When using this top for spinning or felting, it is recommended to pre-draft the fiber a little before starting. This fiber is not particularly suitable for beginners, because the micron measurement in this wool blend is very low, which means the wool is super soft and luxurious, but also more challenging to felt or spin due to its "slippery" nature.
It is important to note that this wool should not be ironed or tumble dried, and should only be hand or gently washed.
